Mariners sails high as they clinched historic afternoon unfolded at the newly built Salt Lake Yuvabharati Hockey Stadium as the fierce Kolkata hockey rivalry lit up the turf. In front of an enthusiastic fans of both the teams, defending champions Mohun Bagan AC delivered a commanding performance to defeat arch-rivals East Bengal Club 4–1 in a high-intensity derby clash.

From the opening whistle, Mohun Bagan looked sharp and aggressive, controlling possession and pressing the East Bengal defense with quick passing moves. Their early dominance soon paid off when Bobby Singh Thami struck the first goal of the match with a powerful finish inside the circle, giving the Mariners the perfect start.Thami continued to be a constant threat for the East Bengal defense. His brilliant positioning and attacking instinct helped him double his tally later in the match, further strengthening Mohun Bagan’s grip on the contest. Mohun Bagan’s dominance did not stop there. Md. Rahil added another goal to the tally with a well-taken strike, further widening the gap and putting the contest firmly out of East Bengal’s reach. The attacking momentum continued as Simranjoth Singh also got his name on the scoresheet, sealing a memorable derby victory. East Bengal managed to pull one goal back, but it proved little more than a consolation as Mohun Bagan maintained control throughout the encounter. With this win Bagan still remains at the top.
